Hey Guys, I’m Tom van Berckel. An NHS therapist, coach & explorer of life. Let me tell you my story.
I’ve been a therapist for 20 years. 10 years ago my life fell apart as I faced severe physical health challenges. With severe visual vertigo I was almost completely disabled. My life, identity, career, relationships fell apart. As my life went to zero, I discovered that when everything was taken away there was a core fear. underneath it all. A fear that I wasn’t enough. Underneath that fear I connected with the truth that I am whole and complete as I am. Today, I bring this lived wisdom into my work as a therapist, coach, and founder of Awake Lab. I hold an MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and have trained extensively in Schema Therapy, REBT, ACT, Gestalt, Systemic Coaching, Transactional analysis. I work as a Schema-informed CBT therapist in the NHS. My core mission is to help others heal the root of their suffering: the unconscious belief that they are not enough.
